The rupiah traded among banks in Jakarta on Monday morning rose 16 points to move Rp12.090 per U.S. dollar from the last position on Dec. 13 .
" Although the rupiah strengthened but still tend to be flat , " said an analyst at Monex Investindo Futures , Zulfirman Basir .
He said the movement of the exchange rate market is still overshadowed by concerns about the potential reduction in stimulus The Federal Reserve United States ahead of the Federal Open Market Committee ( FOMC ) on December 17 to 18 .
Zulfirman estimates , the rupiah traded at Rp12.000 to Rp12.220 per U.S. dollar today.
Head of Research Securities Trust Reza Priyambada added , strengthening rupiah restrained by the influence of unemployment data and U.S. retail sales showed improvement in the economy .
" Conditions were expected to re- make the rate of the U.S. dollar continues to move up , " he said .
Moreover , he added , it was rumored that the U.S. Senate has approved a budget package to avoid potential temporary suspension of U.S. economic activity and fiscal stability for the next two years.
" An improvement in the U.S. economy could certainly further immerse the rupiah , " he said .
