Air Algerie plane carrying 116 passengers and crew lost in the Sahara desert

The flight officials in Algeria say they lost contact with Air Algerie, the country's national airline, on Thursday (24.07), 50 minutes after the plane was taking off from Burkina Faso.

The Associated Press reported the aircraft with flight number AH5017 it disappeared from radar at 1:55 pm GMT.

It is estimated that the plane was carrying 110 passengers and six crew.
Algerian news agency said the plane was in flight from Ougadougou, Burkina Faso, to the capital of Algeria, Algiers, and was scheduled to land at 05:10 GMT.

"In accordance with the procedure flight, Air Algerie has implemented a plan Daurat," said Air Algerie official news agency APS.
