Government prepared new sanctions for pedophiles
The government is considering to revise the penalties for sex offenders who have been considered too light . One of the penalties assessed are chemically castrated .
Penalties against sex offenders in children stipulated in Law no. 23 of 2002 on Child Protection that is at least three years , and a maximum of 15 years in prison .
The Government considers this punishment is not a deterrent effect .
One form of punishment becomes a health ministry study was chemically castrated . As explained by Deputy Health Minister Ali Gufron Mukti .
