Troops supporting former general Khalifa Haftar Wednesday ( 28/5 ) air strikes against militants in the west of Benghazi .

Security officials say Libyan warplanes bombed militant strongholds in Benghazi , masterminded by a former general who rebelled in his attempt to crush insurgents there .
