Nancy Chng , joint author The Business Pillar of Suharto 's Indonesia said the book is about a Chinese billionaire businessman who is very close to Suharto and had an emotional relationship with Indonesia . Nancy Chng says he wrote this book as an objective journalist . Chng said , " I think this book is the basis of their symbiotic relationship is mutually beneficial , because when Suharto was in power he could say to Liem he could gain a monopoly on this and that and the other . The book details the enormity Sioe Liong Lim influence on the business world and the Indonesian President Suharto . Billionaire Liem touches every aspect of life in Indonesia , among other staples , such as wheat and flour , Indomie , Indofood and all big business , automobile industry , cement factories and so forth . Most partially monopolistic duopoly along with Suharto 's half - brother .
Chng said not only Sioe Liong Liem who had connections with Suharto .
