The smart phone market in Indonesia continues to grow to 1.2 billion units
Sales of smart mobile phones in the world will increase by 23 % this year to 1.2 billion units were triggered by the increasing demand in a number of countries including Indonesia .
Based on surveys conducted research firm IDC , the market most of the increase coming from low-cost devices with the Android operating system .
" What makes the growth of smart phones is so remarkable is where the growth is going to happen , " said Ramon Llamas , an analyst with IDC , as reported by AFP .
"Deliveries of smart phones will double between now and 2018 in key markets include India , Indonesia and Russia . Additionally , China will be the goal of selling one-third of the total mobile phones in 2018 . "
IDC said that they predict the average price of smart phones this year, down from U.S. $ 314 ( Rp 3 , 6 million ) to U.S. $ 335 and will continue to fall to U.S. $ 267 in 2018 .
The research firm said Android is expected to remain the lead with 80.4 % market share in 2014 and will lose a little of that portion when Windows Phone began to enter the market in a few years .
Apple's iOS market share dropped from 14.8 % in 2014 to 13.7 % in 2018 .
While the market share for BlackBerry is less than one per cent this year and continue to fall to 0.3 % in 2018 .
