Recep Tayyip Erdogan lifted a ban on women wearing headscarves in state institutions .


Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan recently lifted a ban on women wearing headscarves in state institutions . Since the announcement of this, women are no longer prohibited from wearing the hijab , Monday ( 09/30/2013 )

However , lifting of ban on headscarves in state institutions only applies to civil servants only. While judges , prosecutors , police and members of the armed forces are exempt from such revocation .

Although the revocation of the legacy of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk rule since the 1920's it was considered too late . However, a number of Muslim clerics and scholars praised the move .

" Despite the lifting of the ban on headscarves PM Erdagon too late , but it shows a step forward for Turkey to melt the strict regulations Ataturk legacy , " said Fahmi Huweidi Egyptian Muslim Scholars deliver the compliment .

Egyptian cleric Sheikh Prof. Dr. Mohamed Aly Nassar also praised the attitude . " It was a commendable and courageous decision to give rights to Muslim women in the country , " said Prof. Nassar in conversation with Reuters at Al Azhar University .

Prof. Nassar , who previously criticized the attitude of PM Edogan which he considers interference in domestic affairs of Egypt , assess the hijab is a fundamental right for Muslim women to run as a religious obligation .

" I did refuse attitudes PM Erdogan interference in the domestic affairs of Egypt , but this time I support him for the sake of Muslim rights , " said the professor of Islamic History and Culture at the University of Al Azhar .
