Fed: U.S. growth is still "low to moderate"

All the Fed's 12 regions reported growth and most industries run better, so the survey area "Beige Book" generally paint a picture of economic well after the closing portion of government activity in October.

Manufactures optimistic about the short-term growth prospects, and retailers have also hopeful ahead of the holiday shopping season began last week, he said.

Price and wage pressures remain subdued, although the survey said companies increasingly mentioned problems recruiting people with adequate skills.

"The difficulty with finding qualified workers, particularly for highly skilled positions, often reported," he said as reported by AFP.
