King of Thailand agreed to elections held February 2
Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej on Monday ( 9/12 ) approved the dissolution of parliament and a general election ( election ) on February 2, 2014 , according to the Royal Gazette.
Local media reports quoted Thai news agency Xinhua said that senior members of the former ruling party of Thailand , Pheu Thai , agreed to enter a name for the task of implementing Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra as prime candidates for the upcoming elections .
The agreement was reached at a meeting of the party on Monday ( 9/12 ) after Yingluck announced the dissolution of representative bodies in the morning , said party spokesman Prompong Nopparit was quoted as saying by the Bangkok Post .
Yingluck will be selected to run for prime minister again because he has shown strong leadership in his tenure at this time , said Prompong .
He also said that Yingluck had made the decision in the interest of democracy and the people .
Yingluck 's candidacy was formally presented at a party meeting on Wednesday , said Prompong and add a list of party candidates for the election will be completed next week .
