Number of Victims of Violence in Iraq Surpasses 8 Thousand Year

Tensions between Sunnis and the majority Shiites continue ruling Iraq after U.S. troops pulled high by the end of 2011.

The number of murder victims in Iraq that continues to rise last month showed an increase in targeted killings , which this year has reached over 8,000 people .

According to UN reports , the bodies of the victims are usually discarded at the roadside in a state of disrepair , and is raising concerns that the country is being led to open war between Sunni and Shia groups .

Iraqi officials said Sunday ( 1/12 ) , three bombs exploded during a funeral ceremony the son of a tribal chief Sunni anti- al - Qaida in the northeast of Baghdad , killing 17 people .

Widespread chaos almost destroyed the country after the 2003 US-led invasion to topple Saddam Hussein's Sunni -dominated . Islamic extremists from both groups were involved in a bloody conflict that killed tens of thousands of people .
