Thai Prime Minister proposed a referendum
Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has proposed a referendum on its future on Sunday , and promised to step down if the people want it , as protesters prepared with pressure to try to force the last drops of power .
The protesters have been in the streets of the capital for weeks , clashing with police and vowed to topple Yingluck and eradicate the influence of self-exiled brother , former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra , according to a Reuters report .
Demonstrations was the last eruption in nearly a decade competition between powers who set up headquarters in Bangkok with those who support Thaksin , a former communications conglomerate that won great support in the countryside with a pro-poor policies .
The pro Democratic Party in the parliament said that all cadres will surrender their seats because they do not want to want to work with the ruling party leader Yingluck .
The leader of the protesters , Suthep Thaugsuban , a former prime minister of the Democratic Party , has called for a demonstration last Monday to force Yingluck down .
Yingluck said in a statement broadcast on state TV that it was looking for a way to end the conflict .
" We have to hold a referendum so that people can decide what we should do , " he told Reuters .
Suthep , who realized that Yinluck likely to win an election if it is requested , appointment setting reminiscent of the "good guys " in the " people's council " that will replace the government .
Yingluck has rejected the idea inskonstitusional and undemocratic . He did not mention specifics about the referendum but said it was in line with the constitution .
" I'm willing to listen to proposals from the protesters . These positions I'm not addictive . I am ready to resign and dissolve the parliament if it wants the majority of Thai people , " he said .
The military , which has ousted Thaksin in 2006 , said it did not want to get involved even though it has tried to mediate .
Thaksin fled Thailand in 2008 to avoid corruption charges , but is believed to still be involved closely with the government of his brother .
While the Thaksin in a message on Facebook menuis " Thailand Politics is brutal " . " I have therefore made it difficult , especially with the claims of loyalty to the kingdom .
