The White House can not confirm the occurrence of execution in North Korea

  The White House said it could not independently confirm the veracity of the report execution process uncle of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

But they said it did not have reason to doubt a report released by the North Korean news agency stating that it happened.

"If this is true, then this is an extreme example of the brutality of the North Korean regime," said National Security Council spokesman, Patrick Ventrell, as reported by the Huffington Post.

North Korean news agency, KCNA, on Thursday, announced that Kim Jong Un's uncle, Jang Song Thaek ie, regarded as the ruler of North Korea's number two, was executed for several crimes including attempting to overthrow the country with all sorts of intrigue and disgraceful effort.

Ventrell said the U.S. has been following the developments in North Korea and consult with allies in the region.
