NASA Find 715 New Planets
Scientists from the United States Space Agency ( NASA ) on Wednesday announced the discovery of 715 new planets around distant stars , including four foreign planets that have the equivalent size of Earth . All four are expected to have a temperature sufficient to form water , thus potentially accommodate life .

The invention is based on the collection of data on approximately 150,000 stars for two years by the Kepler space telescope NASA . With the addition, the number of planets outside our solar system planets is now approaching 1,700 .
" We almost doubled the number of planets known to man , " said Jack Lissauer , planetary scientist at NASA Ames Research Center in California , USA . Lissauer serving science investigators in the Kepler space telescope mission that is worth $ 600 million .
The data were collected before the Kepler telescope damaged last year . Kepler is now not able to track the stars for sure , so it can not continue the task of planet hunting that became NASA's mission since its launch in 2009 . Kepler scientists are now seeking funding from NASA to operate the telescope for two years with a reduced role : learn how planets form around stars .
Meanwhile , researchers continue to examine the data collected while Kepler was working fine . Kepler has documented several thousand candidate planets . The hope , the researchers were able to confirm the existence of a few hundred more planets orbiting around other stars .
The planets discovered outside the solar system are called exoplanets . Almost all new exoplanets verified smaller than Neptune , the gas giant planets in the outer solar system with a range of sizes is almost four times larger than the earth . Exoplanet spread around 305 stars in a solar system . Just like the planets around our sun , another solar system that is home to more than one planet , according to scientists .
Researchers said four of the newly confirmed exoplanet that is less than 2.5 times the size of Earth . This means that gravitational forces will be relatively comfortable to live like human beings . The fourth planet orbiting in the " habitable zone " , as the term scientists . This means that the distance from their star to the planet is just right , so that the planet's surface temperature is precise enough to keep the water molecules remain in a liquid state . The temperature is not too hot so that evaporation of water and not too cold to freeze water .
The new discovery confirms that Kepler 's " minor planets prevalent in our galaxy , " says planetary researcher Sara Seager of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology , who was not involved in the discovery . " I'm very excited about it . "|ASWJ
