Non Oil and Gas Industry Projected to Grow 6.8 % in 2014

Industry Minister MS Hidayat said , although until the end of the third quarter of 2013, the world economy is still uncertain , but with the improving economy of the developed countries , like the United States , Japan , and several European countries , Minister of Industry optimistic the national economy in 2014 will grow better .

According to Minister of Industry , in 2014 the growth of non-oil industry is expected to reach 6.4 % . Even if the maximum efforts be made ​​, non oil and gas industry is expected to grow to 6.8 % , in which case the base metals industry iron and steel , transportation equipment industry , the median and equipment , and industrial textiles , leather goods and footwear is expected to be be the engine of growth of manufacturing industries .

With the growth of non-oil industries , the growth of the manufacturing sector as a whole is expected to reach 5.8 to 6.2 % by 2014 , and economic growth in Indonesia is estimated at 5.7 to 6.1 % .
To accelerate the growth of the industry , the ministry will continue the three program priorities : first downstream agro-based industries , oil and gas and mineral materials , both increasing the competitiveness of industry, human -based , domestic and export markets , as well as the industrial development of small and medium enterprises ( SMEs ) .

According to the Minister MS Hidayat , the effort to achieve the target growth industries Industry Ministry recommends policy proposals in order to improve competitiveness , among others ; optimalisai , fiscal incentives by providing tax relief , tax allowance , BMDTP , luxury sales tax exemption , import duties , namely the completion of the investment barriers divestment in the mineral processing industry , the rules relating to B3 .
