 South Korea Admits Zone Air China

South Korea (ROK ) has attracted orders for commercial airline to no attention to the country's air defense zone set China last month . The appeal is the first response to Seoul over the pace of China which has damaged diplomatic relations in the region .

South Korea's Minister of Transport , Suh Seung - hwan said on Wednesday night that the airlines on the South be allowed to decide themselves whether to submit a flight plan to the Chinese authorities or not . Shortly after China imposed a zone of air over the East China Sea , South Korea ordered the airline to airline - China policy of ignoring it .

Separately , the head of the ministry's spokesman , Seog Song - jun said , Thursday , that the change was intended for safety reasons .

United States ( U.S. ) and Japan also oppose measures that China is seen as a bid to shore up Chinese claims over the islands are controlled by Japan . While South Korea and Japan asks domestic airlines to not take care of the air zone , the U.S. asked private airlines to comply with the rules of China for safety reasons .

With the lifting of the instruction , Japan being the only country that ordered the airline to ignore China's air zone .
