At least three Muslims were killed in clashes with hardline Buddhists in southern Sri Lanka.

The resident died from a gunshot wound near the town Aluthgama Mosque which is the region worst sectarian conflict in recent years.

Ministry of Justice Sri Lanka Rauf Hakeem, said more than 78 people seriously injured in the clashes.

A curfew was imposed in Aluthgama and the area around the city of Beruwala.
Sri Lanka is dominated by Buddhist, Muslim percentage is only 10%.
