Previous Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei condemned the possibility of U.S. intervention in Iraq, saying Washington's main goal is to keep control of Iraq.

He refused talks sectarian issue by saying, "The main dispute between the parties in Iraq is that the U.S. wants Iraq to support the party that wants an independent Iraq."
