The German team started the 2014 World Cup in Brazil with a 4-0 run over Portugal, of which three goals were scored by Thomas Muller, in Salvador, Monday night (16/06).
Germany is playing a very effective straight ahead after only 12 minutes through a penalty Muller.
The referee pointed to the spot after Mario Gotze dropped by Joao Pereira at the heart of Portugal's defense.
Mats Hummels German added advantage with a header in the 32nd minute before halftime and Muller scored again making the scoreboard changed to 3-0.
In the first round of the Portugal also lost Pepe who was expelled by the referee after butting heads Muller in the 37th minute.
In the second half Germany added another goal, Muller scored in the 78th minute.
Portugal seeks to minimize the defeat, among others, through some free kick taken by Cristiano Ronaldo, but the keeper saved his shot to Germany.
Commenting on the victory of Germany, Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis who became the BBC commentator said the German players play with the patient and not rush.
"While Portugal face a similar situation with Spain. They apply the wrong strategy," said Pulis. BBC
