Pakistani fighter jets launched air strikes on militant hideouts, killing approximately one hundred militants, according to officials in north-west Pakistan.
The air attack was launched in the mountainous area Dehgan, in North Waziristan Click which is where the Taliban and Al-Qaeda militants.
"The attack was carried out by a report that confirmed the presence of Uzbek and other militants in the area," said an official.
Official sources said the Uzbek militants were targeted after militants from Uzbekistan said they took part in the attack that occurred at the Karachi airport on Sunday (08/06) last week.
This is the second attack in the region in a week, after airport attack Click claimed by Pakistani Taliban
killing at least 30 people.
The group said the attack was in retaliation for the killing of their leader last year.
Pakistan tried to fight the extremist Islamic insurgency, including the Pakistani Taliban, since more than a decade.
Pakistani government started peace talks with the Pakistani Taliban in March, but there has been little progress in the effort.BBC
