Russia vowed to provide all possible assistance to encourage dialogue between the Syrian government and the opposition, said the Foreign Ministry in Moscow on Friday.
"Russia, in cooperation with the UN and other international partners, will provide maximum support to the efforts aimed at forging a political solution, a comprehensive, based on mutual agreement between the parties," the ministry said in a statement, as reported by RIA Novosti .
The ministry said that the countries involved in the multinational reconciliation talks should encourage the Syrian government and opposition to compromise.
Previously, the Special Representative of the UN-Arab League Lakhdar Brahimi, Friday (30/1) called for peace talks between the Syrian government and the opposition resumed in Geneva, Switzerland, on February 10.
