China , Russia , Saudi Arabia , and Cuba Wins Seat on UN Human Rights Council

China , Russia , Saudi Arabia , and Cuba gained seats in the UN Human Rights Council , despite harsh international criticism over their human rights record .

14 UN General Assembly chose to chair the council has 47 members who have an interest in increasing diplomatic Syrian civil war and other conflicts .

Council , who will begin work Jan. 1, is one of the most diverse institutions UN members since it was formed in 2006 .
