The dollar rose against major currencies on Monday (Tuesday morning GMT ) , and rose against the Japanese yen on speculation that the Bank of Japan ( BoJ ) will probably expand further monetary stimulus program large - magnitude .

BoJ Governor Haruhiko Kuroda said Monday that the central bank will maintain its accommodative monetary policy until inflation steady at two percent and that he would not hesitate to adjust its policies , Xinhua reported .

The dollar bought 103.08 yen , from 102.43 yen higher than the previous session . The dollar rose to 0.9086 Swiss franc from 0.9067 Swiss franc and rose to 1.0635 Canadian dollar from 1.0613 Canadian dollar .
