The United States urged Beijing to cancel the new flight arrangements established by the new air defense zone which criticizes as confusing and tends to increase the risk of accidents .
" Our general position as the U.S. government is that we do not accept the terms of China , " said State Department spokesman Jen Psaki AFP reported .
Beijing announced last month the Air Defense Identification Zone ( ADIZ ) over the East China Sea , including the disputed islands with Japan so that all aircraft must obey orders or face China " emergency defensive measures " are not defined .
Psaki criticized the announcement that was made without " prior consultation " and call it overlaps with many other established zones of Japan and South Korea .
" The fact that China's announcement has only led to confusion and increases the risk of accidents further confirms the validity of our concerns and the need for China to cancel the procedure , " he told reporters .
White House spokesman Jay Carney said the United States remains very concerned about China's new air defense zone was .
" This is an opportunity for Vice President Biden to raise our concerns directly with policy makers in Beijing and looking for clarity on China's intentions in making the steps at this point , " Carney said referring to Joe Biden who will soon hold a trip to the Far East .
