WHO : New Koronavirus Victim Increases 66
Two more people died from the Middle East koronavirus respiratory syndrome ( Mers - CoV ) , so the number of patients who died to 66 , according to the World Health Organization ( WHO ) on Friday ( 15/11 ) .
WHO stated in the most recently updated report on the epidemic that the United Arab Emirates ( UAE ) has reported one laboratory-confirmed cases of the transmission of the new koronavirus , Xinhua reported .
The patient , a man aged 75 years with certain medical conditions , fell ill on October 1 , was admitted to hospital on October 12 and died on November 10. He is a citizen of Oman , the WHO said .
And a previously confirmed case of Oman , the first laboratory-confirmed infections in the country about the new koronavirus transmission , has died , the WHO said .
In addition , Qatar also reported one additional confirmed cases to WHO , Xinhua reported . The man, 61 years old , with a medical condition who showed symptoms of Mers - CoV , fell ill on Nov. 4 and was hospitalized on November 7 .
WHO said the man was in critical condition . Early epidemiological investigation showed the patient had been exposed to farm animals where livestock are kept .
Globally , from September 2012 to date , the WHO has been notified of 155 cases of laboratory-confirmed on Mers - CoV infection .
