Team South Korean divers have found 48 bodies inside one of the rooms ferry that sank in the waters of South Korea , said state officials .

It is estimated that the death toll is still wearing a life jacket in the room crammed to capacity of 38 people , said a South Korean Navy officer .

In a statement to reporters on the island of Jindo , Navy Capt. Kim Jin - Hwang describe the difficulties experienced team of divers .
