A British minister resigned on Tuesday, because it does not support the state government's position in the conflict between Israel and Hamas in progress, which is now entering its fourth week.

In his resignation letter posted in social media, Sayeeda Warsi calls British policy regarding Gaza can not be justified morally.

He said the policy was not in the interests of the British national and have a long term effect on the UK's reputation nationally and internationally.

Warsi, a Conservative member of the cabinet and the country's first Muslim, served as Minister of Religion and Society.

Pressure on British Prime Minister David Cameron and his coalition government has increased to take a tough stance against Israel after the Gaza conflict has killed more than 1,800 Palestinians and 67 people on the Israeli side in a war that lasted nearly a month. VOA
