A U.S.-based organization said, the number of executions carried out in China seems to be reduced to 20 percent by 2013.

In a report Monday (20/10), Dui Hua Foundation estimate that China executes over 2,400 people in 2013 and may execute the same amount this year as well. That's more than three times that of what was said the organisation Amnesty International the number of executions in other countries combined in the world by 2013.

The Foundation's report was based on Dui Hua's information published in theinfluential newspaper and relatively progressive, "Southern Weekly" based inGuangzhou. Dui Hua also received statements from a legal officer who is rumored tohave access to the number of executions carried out each year.

China is alleged to have conducted fewer executions, following a 2007 ruling outgiving authority to the High people's Court to review all death penalty verdict.

Two men were sentenced to death and another life sentence for killing a priest in the city of Kashgar Government pro, Western China, Thursday (29/9).

China's State Media, Tianshan Net, Thursday (29/9), reported that a court in KashgarSunday (28/9) convicting Gheni Nurmemet Abidilimit Hasan and for leading a terrorgroup, but affect a planned assassination.

A third man, Atawulla Tursun, convicted for participating in the activities of the terrorgroup and sentenced to a lifetime.

Chinese Media say Nurmemet Abidilimit and two other men, killing the priest JumeTahir, aged 74 years, after 30ru dawn on a large mosque, 30 last July.

The murder was committed in the middle of a series of riots in the Uighur minoritycitizens waged against the institutions of Government and his supporters.

Nurmemet Abidilimit was arrested, and two others were shot dead by police. Nearly 400 people were killed in riots over the past one and a half years. (VOA)
