Finance Minister Chatib Basri asked the Ministry of Enterprise to keep charge of PT Freeport Indonesia dividend amounting to Rp1 , 5 trillion for the target SOE dividend income in the state budget in 2014 reached Rp40 trillion .
" We ask the Ministry of Enterprise to collect the dividend , " he said in Jakarta on Thursday .
Chatib admitted collect the dividend is not easy , because even though Indonesia has a stake in the Freeport section , but only a minority government or a portion of 9.3 percent, so dividends hard fought .
" But , we have to fight for share dividends , so there must be fightnya dong , because Rp1 , 5 trillion was great , " he said .
He said state revenues from SOE dividend useful to close the financing and holding widening budget deficit , for it regardless of the number of mandatory unpaid dividends to be billed .
Previously , State Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan ask PT Freeport Indonesia continues to meet its obligations to pay dividends to the Indonesian government in the form of an interim dividend .
" The government would still want the company paid a dividend , although the form of an interim dividend , because it has been included as a deposit SOEs to the state budget in 2014, " said Dahlan , after holding a meeting of the Governing Ministry of Enterprise .
According to Dahlan , the interim dividend proposal will soon be submitted to the management of Freeport , to meet the 2014 state budget .
The interim dividend is paid by the company distributed to shareholders before the end of the fiscal year . In the context of this Freeport , interim dividend payment is allocated from fiscal year 2014 net income to be deducted from the final dividend .
