American training Syrian rebels to fight ISIS
Americans hope to train the rebels, the war against the
militia ISIS will be more effective.
US Defense Ministry will send 400 troops and hundreds of
support staff to train in order to face the moderate rebel group calling itself
the Islamic State or ISIS in Syria.
It is not clear where the troops will be withdrawn and
placed, although Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia has offered his country to be
used as headquarters.
America intends to train over 5,000 rebels annually
within three years.
This policy marks the expansion of US training for Syrian
rebels that began in March 2013 in Jordan.
The program is led by the CIA's secret. In October 2014
it was announced that the program will be increased and the Pentagon will
create similar programs.
This latest announcement comes just days after US officials
meet Syrian opposition leaders in Istanbul Turkey.
