After Indonesia, Twitter open offices in Hong Kong

Asia is an important market, said of Twitter.

Social media company Twitter says it will open an Office in Hong Kong in the first quarter of 2015.

140 character message service is forbidden to operate in China since 2009 due toworry used to organize protests against the Government.

However, opening an Office in Hong Kong allows to manage the advertising potential.

Twitter says they want to develop into a new phase with its execution of the Asian region including China.

This Office will only contain the salesperson, following in the footsteps of Google andFacebook.

"The opening of Hong Kong Office in the first quarter allowed us to pursue strategicopportunities in China, as China's exports, the advertising market and the advertising market Hong Kong and Taiwan, as well as media partnerships," the company said to the BBC, Friday (07/11).

The opening of the Office will be the fifth in this regional after Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul and Sydney.

In August, Twitter said it will also open an Office in Jakarta, Indonesia to become one of its largest markets.

"Half of the internet users, social media and mobile users in Asia, we see a lot ofopportunities," said a spokesman for the company. (BBC)
