China, Indonesia agree to boost maritime cooperation



Joko Widodo met Xi Jinping ahead of APEC leaders meetings.
President of Joko Widodo and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed to boostcooperation, especially in the field of maritime and infrastructure.
The two leaders met in Beijing ahead of the APEC Summit that will begin Monday(10/11).

Xinhua News Agency reported the Joko Widodo told Xi Jinping he hopes China willcontinue to enhance cooperation with the maritime and priority infrastructure.

Jokowi arrived in Beijing Saturday (08/11) ahead of the APEC leaders meeting of the 22nd.

A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, Michael Tene, said in the APEC Summit,Indonesia will also encourage marine became one of the main issues in the discussion of the range of cooperation.

After attending the APEC meeting, Joko Widodo also will attend the ASEAN Summit meeting in Myanmar and the G20 Summit in Australia.
In addition with Joko Widodo, Xi Jinping also conduct bilateral meetings with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

Putin and Xi signed a memorandum on new pipelines from the gas fields of Siberia. (BBC)
