Indonesia will develop a national car fueled electricity
BATAM, KOMPAS.com - Minister of Research, Technology and
Higher Education Muhammad Nasir asserted, the development of national
automobile technology (Mobnas) only for the electric fuel, instead of oil or
other fuels.
"Yes, only electricity," Nasir said after
visiting the Polytechnic Batam in Batam Riau Islands, Monday (02/09/2015), as
quoted by Antara.
Ministry chose the development of a national car as
environmentally friendly electrical energy. He said, not chosen the development
of oil-fueled vehicles because of the amount of supply that is increasingly
limited.
Indonesia also deliberately did not choose to develop a
national car oil fired because the technology is controlled by Japanese and
Korean so it is difficult to surpass.
Currently, the development of the national car is under
evaluation and tested by BPPT. Two universities are involved in its
development, that is, from the University of Indonesia and Bandung Institute of
Technology.
From the evaluation and testing it, is expected to know
the weakness of cars designed.
"So the end of what can be known weaknesses,"
he said.
On that occasion, Nasir did not answer questions related
to the procurement of automobile business cooperation with companies in
Malaysia. He turned the conversation to explain the technology development plan
in Batam.
Joko Widodo President finally interjected about

Jokowi added, if Proton is going to be a national car, a
feasibility study must be done carefully. After that, he will ask what the
target will be achieved by the private sector is linked to the national car.
The President added that the Indonesian government is not
sure whether Proton would be a national car. "Not to get there,"
added Jokowi.
"Yes, we have the open, like that of the Malaysian
entry, would of Korea, like Japan, so it's okay. What is important for larger
investments, we are open. We need investment," said Jokowi.
The issue of cooperation between the private sector
