Niger send 750 soldiers to join the 7800 regional forces
fight Boko Haram
Parliament decided on sending troops Niger Nigeria through
voting to tackle Islamist militant group Boko Haram.
Voting is done after Boko Haram attacked a prison and
detonate a car bomb on Monday (09/02) in the town of Diffa, Niger near the
border with Nigeria.
Lawmakers voted unanimously to allow the placement of 750
soldiers together with regional powers to fight against Boko Haram.
The militant Islamic group closer to the territory of the
neighboring countries of Nigeria.
Saturday, Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Benin agreed
to form a powerful force of 7,800 men to fight the group.
Boko Haram first attack in Niger last week, and vowed to
establish an Islamic state.
Niger President Mahamadou Issoufou, a Muslim, vowed beat
Boko Haram.
"All citizens of Niger know these people are not
Muslims. Instead, what they do not help Islam," he said. (BBC)
