African Union strikes back at al-Shabab in
Somalia
Over a quarter of
the al-Shabab militia comes from Kenya, mainly from poor
communities.
The African Union forces in
Somalia hit back al-Shabab militia attack against a military
base near the international airport of Mogadishu.
The AU Mission (AMISOM) said its
troops re-occupy Headquarters after killing allmilitias.
Three troops and a
civilian injured in a contact weapon that lasts for several

The African Union has
over 20,000 troops in the country to help the weak governmentcoping
with al-Shabab.
Al-Shabab confirmed it attacked the headquarters.
Spokesman Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musab said
the Warriors broke through the Defensecomplex.
"Our Fighters broke
through the gate of the headquarters of the African
Union,Halanem and now the battle took place in the headquarters,"
he said.
After several hours of
gunfire and explosion occurred, sending a tweet that AMISOMheadquarters were "safe and controllable."
AMISOM spokesman Colonel Ali Houmed told AP News
Agency at least eight militiaentered the headquarters.
Three people were
shot dead and two people detonated themselves, he said.
