Air China to buy 60 Boeing
Chinese aviation industry is growing fastest in the world
China's national airline, Air China, will buy 60 Boeing
737s in a deal worth more than US $ 6miliar (approximately Rp74,9 trillion).
The planes will be delivered between 2016 and 2020,
according to the rules proposed by the airline.
The deal includes the purchase of Boeing 737 and 737 MAX,
which is known for fuel economy.
Last September, aircraft manufacturers from the United
States gave up seven 747-8 aircraft to Air China.
"We are excited to see that the 737 will play an
important role in the success of Air China," said Ihssane Mounir, Boeing's
vice president of sales for the Northeast Asian region.
In October, rival Boeing, Airbus announced plans to open
a second plant in China in an effort to boost sales of the A330 jet aircraft in
the fastest growing aviation market in the world.
Meanwhile, Boeing said last September that China will
need more than 6,000 aircraft in the next 20 years due to rising travel
industry in China. (BBC)
