ISIS Admit Defeat in Kobani, and promised to strike back
Kobani situation can change in a turning point and a
major defeat for ISIS, which for several months had been seized vast areas of
Syria and Iraq.
The militant group Islamic State (ISIS) released a video
on Saturday (31/1) that it admits defeat in Kobani, Syria, but they vowed to
carry out more attacks.
In the video, the two people who claim to be members of
ISIS said air strikes by US-led coalition was the main reason they were forced
to withdraw from Kobani.
"Just recently we started to retreat from the Ayn
al-Islam as a result of artillery and killing of our brothers," said one
of them in the video, and he uses the name preferred by ISIS than Kobani.
Kurdish forces said on Monday they managed to retake the
city on the border after fighting for months.
Most of the city, which was inhabited 200 thousand
inhabitants, is now in ruins by the fighting.
