France imposed a range of measures to tighten security
after attack Charlie Hebdo.
French police arrested eight people suspected of involvement
in a network that is recruiting youth for jihad in Syria.
They were arrested by anti-terror unit on Tuesday (03/01)
in the area around Paris and Lyon, a city in the south.
As stated by Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve told
reporters.
These eight people can be detained for four days without
charge. Last week, security forces arrested five people from the small town of
Lunel, southern France.
The government says around 1,400 people living in France
have joined a group calling itself the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq, or are
planning to join.
The security forces have conducted a number of raids
after three gunmen launched an attack on Charlie Hebdo magazine offices,
supermarkets Jews and shot a policeman, with the overall death toll reached 17
people.
Among the steps taken to recruit 2,680 additional
intelligence personnel and allocated nearly US $ 500 million to strengthen its
ability to cope with terrorism.
According to Cazeneuve, after the attacks of new security
